The Real Posts project grew out of a web series that started in creator John Pick's front yard.  It quickly gathered an enthusiastic fan base on Funny or Die and was selected Best Web Series by the LA Weekly, who called it "absurdly hilarious," and "expertly edited."   A live show was soon born, where 10 actors performed 20 posts from Craigslist.  It ran in LA (Timeout Critics Choice), Chicago (Royal George) and New York (Public Theater) featuring talent such as Dana DeLorenzo (Ash vs. Evil Dead), Rell Battle (Superior Donuts) and Beth Stelling (Conan).   It was then picked up by TruTv for a round of videos on TruTv's Late Night Snack, where it did very well. John is currently developing another long-form idea with Tru, but thinks the Real Posts format might be best featured as "video postcards" by one of the posting portals themselves (Facebook, YouTube), as it hits the sweet spot for short-form content that uses verbatim virtual text as it's script.
